Free Bridal Sessions

So I've been thinking about ways to jump start my first full year in business and so here is my idea.  I'm giving away bridal portrait sessions.  There is no catch.  I will shoot your portrait session for free.  Pictures will be edited and posted in a secure/password protected gallery for your viewing and purchase.  I am however going to limit the number of free shoots I schedule to 10.  Please contact me so we can get to know each other and get your day picked.  Remember brides this is a great time to do your hair and makeup trials and then get to enjoy them for a while.  I look forward to talking with you.  Please email me at

Something to post

So I'm behind on my blog posts, can you tell. I have so much going on and some exciting things to share. First off, Jessica of Funky Peach Designs is working on my new logo, and I can't tell you how excited I am about it. Once I have my new logo I will be sure to post it for you all to see. For now I will leave you with this picture, it's my dear friend Tracie and my little girl, it's just sweet. Tyler turned 1 on the 12th, I am waiting for a day when it's not freezing to do her pictures. So they will be coming soon. Stay tuned.

Bayside Kennels

I'm sure you all know how much I love animals, on Dec. 13th I held a photography shoot at Bayside Kennels I had 4 sessions that day and here are a few of my favorites from the day.

Here's Shep, he's a cutie isn't he.

Sophia, she's still a puppy and did a really good job.

Penelope
I have never met a cat so mellow, she's lovely to look at also

While I usually prefer to take my pictures with natural light, these are obviously studio pictures. It was a step out of my comfort zone, but I'm very happy with the way they turned out. I hope that parents like them as well. If you are interested in having pictures of your pet taken please contact me, like I said, I prefer taking my pictures in natural light and want your pets portrait session to be in a natural and comfortable setting.
Pet portraits session fee is $75.

Mikayla + Silver

Mikayla is the daughter of the woman I buy my feed from, she is getting ready to turn 13. Silver is a very cute Arabian gelding. I can tell you that they love each other. After looking at these pictures you'll be able to tell too.

Cute Arab ears

She's beautiful, can you imagine when she's 18, watch out!

Trying to capture a little movement, I love the light

Mikalya told me she wanted to be a model, let me tell you, she worked it.

Did I mention they loved each other, can you tell yet?
And hey, what about that light

Photography is all about capturing moments, and I love this moment

He would just kind of lean into her, just sweet, it's a bond that's hard to explain

We all know how I love these shots, and check out that sky

Horse hugs are some of the best hugs

And last but not least, lovely light, beautiful girl, and darling horse.

Thanks Mikayla for taking the time to model for me. You were great, and Silver was wonderful too. I hope you like your photos. Let's do it again next year.

The Grant Family

Meet the Grant Family

Mike, Andi, Lizzie, Amanda, Zoe, and Sebastian

I've known Andi for something like 8 years now, we work our full time jobs together, but usually we are on different shifts. Which makes talking difficult, but we make it work. Andi is a great photographer, I 2nd shoot weddings for her and I love it. We have lots of fun and I think we work well as a team. A while ago she asked if I could do family portraits for her and to be honest, I was intimidated, but when we finally picked a day and a place I set my mind to doing my best and I'm pleased with the results.
The "place" is 3J Ranch. We had originally decided on Indian River Plantation, but she got some objection from her family and I suggested one of my most favorite places. My horses lived here for a long time, Dillon for 10 years and Blue for 5. I love this place and I just knew pictures here would rock. I was right :o)

Andi said this was probably the most romantic picture they have, which makes me smile. Knowing they have a great marriage also makes me smile.

Speaking of looks on faces, check out these, just plain sweet

Well, thank you Grants for letting me photograph you, and thanks for you patience while I edited them. I know, I'm slow, especially compared to a certain someone I know. Also thanks for tromping around in the tall grass and dealing with the bugs! It was worth it.

Jermale + Dominique = Love

Well, it's taken forever, but finally the blog post on my 2nd solo wedding. Actually not really so solo this time, this time I was able to "borrow" my girlfriends #1 assistant, Zoe Grant. Zoe rocks, she was in the girls for the getting ready, and grabbed so many great shots. The last shot of the post is hers... love it.

The bride and her auntie

Guess who he sees?

My favorite... love, love, love (think Beatles)

What a sweet moment between father and daughter

First kiss.... (this one is Zoe's too)

Yummy cake... it was really was yummy and very pretty, and it came from Walmart.. no lie.

So this was a wedding full of close friends and family. If I recall correctly 8 people gave toasts to the new couple. All of them had the same message which I thought was awesome.
"Put God first, always rely on him"
It was really touching to watch the outpouring of love for these two.
Oh and did I mention that Dominique is beautiful.

Like I said, great grab Zoe, what a sweet moment.. they were singing to each other.

Dominique and Jermale-
Thanks for letting Zoe and I share in your special day. The love that you share was obvious. I can't wait to see your family grow.
